Bloggiesta 2013! Woot Woot!

bloggiestastart

Bloggiesta 2013 runs from runs March 22nd until Sunday March 24th. The idea of Bloggiesta is to take a weekend to tackle all the website related “stuff” that you do not have time for during the rest of the year.  During this time, I will be participating in Twitter parties, completing mini challenges, and tackling the (never ending) blog to-do list!

I am so ready for the challenge.

More importantly, I will be networking with Bloggiesta bloggers who have similar aspirations.

I will be writing posts updating my progress through the weekend, so make sure to come back and check on my progress!

Here is my commitment for this weekend

  1. To replace a few of the social media icons on my sidebar with my bloglovin icon
  2. Participate in the 3 Twitter parties
  3. Participate in at least 3 challenges
  4. Write up text for my home page and figure out (logistically) where I’m going to put it
  5. Figure out blog tabs or categories and commit!
  6. Categorize my posts
  7. Network…network…network with other Bloggiesta bloggers
  8. Continue posting on my regular schedule while still completing all the above!

Haha!

It’s going to be a lot of fun!

Are you ready?

Set?

Go!

  2. What exactly is bloglovin? I’ve seen it mentioned on a few blogs this morning and have never heard of it before…definitely need to research this!

Good luck with your to-do list!

    • Hey Kristin,

Basically it’s a blog reader. I have a lot of favorite blogs, so I put them all there so I can just scroll down a few times a day. When something catches my eye, I click – I read – I comment. Then I go back to bloglovin and continue scrolling.

Since I like a variety of blogs, it’s much easier than the RSS feeds. I hate for my email to be cluttered with tons of emails.

  3. Good luck with your list Lisa! I hope you have a productive and FUN weekend 🙂

  4. That sounds very cool! I wish you luck with your commitments. They will be easier to accomplish with the support of others doing the same thing!

    • Thanks. Not doing so well today. I got up at 4 AM, and with doctors appointments, kids running around and a baby who wouldn’t sleep…

It’s going to be a very long and drawn out night.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

  5. Good Luck on your Bloggiesta goals for this weekend!

    Have a great Bloggigesta weekend!

    • Hey Angelica,

Thank you! It’s not going as fast as I thought it would, but oh well.

I will be over to read your goals in a few!

      Thanks for stopping by!

  6. It was nice to chat with you last night! I’m glad you’re joining Bloggiesta, even if most of us end up being book bloggers! 🙂 I think that’s because the two hostesses are book bloggers, so they get their information out on their blogs, which attract other book bloggers.

Good luck getting all of your things done!!

Here is my Bloggiesta To Do List!

    • Thanks so much for stopping by, Rebecca!

Honestly, I was scared. I was like – oh…maybe I’m getting in on their game. I know it sounds weird – but I really wanted to participate. I’m glad it’s open. I’m really glad I found it. Bloggiesta gives me renewed energy. It’s like I feed off the energy of others. Even though I am tired and worn out – I feel like updating and fixing and posting and all that.

  7. Yeah, it was so much fun! Thanks for having a such a great blog! I found out about Bloggiesta from your blog.

So, I thank you for that.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

  8. Committing to blog tabs and categories is so hard! I can’t even tell you how many times I have changed mine! Good luck 🙂

I hope you check out my Bloggiesta To Do List or join my mini-challenge about getting involved!

    • I know…I know. It’s hard just figuring out what to name the tabs (or items in the menu). I would like to keep it to 3-4 very broad subjects. What I don’t want is like 20 tabs going across the page 3 levels deep – you know? I want to keep things nice and clean.

I don’t know, I have to figure it out.

  9. Hope you got a lot accomplished on your Bloggiesta list Lisa. Hope the Squishable Baby is giving you time to meet your goals 🙂 I’m following your blog on Bloglovin and added you to my Google+ circles. I look forward to seeing what you’ve accomplished and your future posts. Glad to meet ya!

    • Hey Tanya,

Thanks so much for stopping by. It’s very nice to meet you.

Thanks for adding me. I use Bloglovin and G+ a lot – a lot – a lot. Those two and twitter are my go to’s. I do look forward to following you and your progress.

  10. I love your goals! My site needs work too! I just have time issues 🙂 Great job committing to betterment!

    • Hey Carrie,

Thanks so much for stopping by! It’s nice to see you.

Thanks! Yeah, I have practically been up since Friday. Very little sleep – but I’m getting some stuff done at least. I feel good and productive.

  11. That’s a good list of things to do! My list was pretty short, but I still enjoyed getting a few things done. That’s what counts, right?
