I know what you are thinking.  I am being petty and shallow. 

I want defined abs and a nice firm booty.  You might be thinking, why?  She homeschools, she takes care of her kids, why would she want these things?

The truth is, to feel good, you have to feel good about yourself.  If you look at yourself in the mirror with disgust, if you don’t like the way you feel in your own skin, then it needs to change. 

In my opinion, life is too short to be making excuses about why I shouldn’t have something I want.

At 300 lbs., I had an idea of what I wanted.  At the time I didn’t know if I could achieve it, but that didn’t stop me from working towards it.  Despite being a stay at home mom, despite wearing sweat pants all day, despite being a homeschool mom, I still wanted defined abs and a firm booty!

It doesn’t mean it wasn’t hard or that I didn’t struggle, because I did,

I remember the early days of The Fix. Everything hurt, all the time. I guess that’s what comes with working out being so heavy. But I never gave up. I didn’t make excuses and I didn’t stop. Everyday – day in and day out. Some days, I was flat on my back after a workout. I couldn’t even walk up the stairs. Cardio, lower body, upper body, Pilates, dirty 30, yoga. Everyday (Monday – Sunday).

I didn’t make excuses because of finances. I found a way to get what I needed to work towards my goals.

When I plateaued, I didn’t make excuses and give up. I don’t say things like, this isn’t for me, I don’t deserve this, or I’m meant to be fat because it’s my genetics. I didn’t keep on doing the same things hoping and praying it will change. I learned from my mistakes, I learned from others, and I committed to make the changes necessary to achieve my goals.

This is how I was able to lose 160 lbs. and get to where I want to be in life.

I make no excuses for myself and I make no excuses for the people that I help. None. If you want to do it, I can help you get there with a solid whole foods and training regimen both at home and at the gym.

It takes time, commitment, a willingness to learn, and a no excuse attitude.
