Review
Recently, I read a very poignant piece on Mrs. D. written by her daughter. You can find that article here. It’s a beautifully written tribute to a mother who got through adversary, tough times, challenges, setbacks – and remained strong and determined to reach her goals.
The reason I mention this. As I have the wonderful opportunity to review Mrs. D’s books, I see parts of Mrs. D’s struggles and accomplishments in each and every book. To me, the books seem to be bits of her life, as she struggled in a new world – not knowing the language and customs. Good Morning, World! follows this same path. Here we meet a baby Thomas – who cannot yet speak. However, he can speak to the trees, the sun, the clouds, the wind, and other children – and they can, in turn, speak back to him. This book is imagination coming alive – through the eyes of an innocent child. As Thomas’s grandfather takes him on a walk, the things that Thomas sees are not the same as what his grandfather sees. During the walk, The grandfather is bothered by a swarm of ladybugs, a wave by a small lake, the hot sun, frogs and more – but Thomas sees friends who are coming to say “Good Morning!”
I think it teaches us all – to look at things through a fresh set of eyes. If we do, perhaps, we will see more of the blessings that life truly brings.
True to all of Mrs. D’s books, the imagery is amazing. You have pages choked full of images in full-blown vivid color – to delight your child’s senses.
Good Morning, World! is really a delight to parents and children, alike! You will enjoy reading this wonderful book to your child – and your child will relish in the easy to understand text, and great illustrations.

Wow, 1,000 kids books is a lot. I have never counted how many we have read, but I know it’s not even remotely close to 1,000.
Thanks so much for stopping by and hosting such a great party!

Dear Lisa,
Thank you very much for reviewing Good Morning, World!, and understanding the concept of my book. I am glad you recognized the real fact about the character of Grandpa. There are many wonderful books about grandparents and children, who have a great time together. Writing this book I wanted to show a different side of human nature. Very often, busy with many things, we grownups forget how to see the world through the eyes of a child. The character of Grandpa was exaggerated for a reason. The key messages of this book are simple: each of us has a choice, wake up miserable or happy. I also wanted to show the reader how two people seeing the same things can draw totally different conclusions. And of course, I wanted children to have fun with the Grandpa character, which will show them how they may appear to others when they are grumpy. This book is for children and parents who like to have a good discussion after they finish reading a book. This story is meant to spark a conversation about the attitude and choices we make. I hope that Good Morning,World! will remind us about the beautiful world outside and that we should more often let our children interact with nature. Enjoy your time with your children. There will be many great moments to remember. Thank you again for your wonderful review. It means a lot that you took the time to read my book. Best wishes,
Mrs.D.
