Review Crowned

This is the heartfelt story of Quinn, a little fairy who dreams of becoming queen.  Like many young girls, she dreams of elegant robes, jewels, and her prince – who will ride to her rescue upon a stately white horse.  Wishing for her dream come true, she whisks off to find her prince.  She kisses frogs, leaves glass slippers, and seeks advice from mirrors, but she seems to come up empty with each and every effort.  A sudden brush-in with an Ogre  is how she learns the most important lesson of all.  For she finds out that if she uses her wit, she can not only impact others in positive ways, but she can make her own happily ever after.

This very important story by Julia Dweck teaches little girls that their dreams can come true if they want them to.  We each contain the power within ourselves, we just have to believe.

Written entirely in rhyme, the musical prose keeps kids of any age (including me) interested in the story.  The bright colorful illustrations, characteristic in all of Julia Dweck books are engaging and entertaining.
