I know for a FACT, 100%, no doubt about it, that homeschool mom’s have a level of busy that is “off the hook.”.
You know how I know?
I am a homeschooling mother of four.
Every second of the day is taken. With an infant in arms, a preschooler, a second and sixth grader, there is always something to do. And why does it seem – every time I turn around – it’s a meal time?
I don’t get that.
The dishes are piling up in the sink to no end. For me, it seems like I clean them all – and the next minute piled up again.
Don’t even talk about the laundry.
You get it. I know you do, because, like me, you homeschool.
How do we, as homeschool moms, take care of ourselves?
Stay out of the Gym
I am going to tell you from experience, the gym – not the way to go.
You go there, and it seems half the day is gone. You have to pile everyone into the car – at least, I did as my gym is 1.5 miles away. Then you have to get everyone out of the car, into the childcare – and pray that you will get 1/2 of your workout done before the baby starts crying.
Am I right?
I don’t know about the gyms in your area, but it cost me an extra $35 a month for the childcare. We have an affordable YMCA near us, where the childcare doesn’t cost – but the equipment is old, run-down and grungy, and the class offerings – bleak at best. They offer a few yoga classes and not much else.
It’s not going to work. I know to get fit, reduce my blood pressure and feel better about myself and my body, I am going to need a combo of cardio, resistance training, yoga, and Pilates. Even though the YMCA is good on the pocketbooks, it’s is not going to fit the bill.
Who is going to hold me accountable? Who is to keep me from running when it gets hard?
Home is Where the Results are!
There is a company called Team Beachbody. They offer 30-minute workouts – that work the entire body, offer an easy clean eating meal plan – both that fit easily into my super busy homeschool routine.
Sound too good to be true? You get the lifestyle change that you want – easily.
I know you need to get out, but walking with kids – not really going to do it. To get results, you really need a full body workout with a combination of a meal plan and accountability to keep you on track and working towards your goal.
The gym? Walking? Who is to keep you on track? If you are eating Oreos, cake, and junk food all the time – are you really going to feel better?
30-minutes. You can fit it in when it’s best for you. I do mine with the kids, and use it as a daily physical fitness routine. It benefits all of us. If you are a morning person – do it at 5 AM while the kids are sleep. If you are a later morning or afternoon person, do it while your kids are doing their independent work? Do it while the baby naps. Do it while the kids are eating lunch or on recess. Do it at night.
Do it when it works for you.
The meal plan, an easy color coded system. If it fits into the containers, you can eat it.
It’s so simple. I lost 80 lbs using this plan.

Homeschool Mom Accountability Group
This program works because we hold each other accountable to our goals.
The easy meal plan, the short workouts – they work. The accountability is key.
I am creating an accountability group just for homeschool moms. This is a place where we check in daily on our progress.
We will do 30 minutes of daily exercise, eat clean, be held accountable and get results.
