 Review

Author Melissa Perry Moraja does it again.  My family is an avid fan of the Wunderkind Series of chapter books, but this is the first (hopefully of many) Wunderkind series of picture books for children ages 3-6.  A fun and engaging book – this is great for any young kid – especially because younger children often find themselves wanting to have more responsibility.  Isabella is so excited to be taking care of her dog, Baxter, but it is a lot of work.  Isabella finds that she has to clean up mess after mess.  I read this book to my 2 year old, and he stated engaged beginning to end; a rarity!  It’s 32 pages are easy to read and the story flows beautifully.  Great writing combined with simple illustrations makes this a winner for the younger kids in any  household.

In the Wunderkind series of books, there is a feather on every page that the children had a lot of fun trying to find.  I was a little sad that there wasn’t a seek-and-find activity in this book.  Despite that, it’s a great holiday gift for any young child in your life!

The Early Buzz

Filled with humor and fun, Isabella Babysits Baxter is perfect for young children, and I especially recommend it for families with pets. Melissa Perry Moraja does a great job of bringing these real-life characters to print in a new, entertaining children’s book that is sure to please the whole family.” ~ Review by Readers Favorite Reviewer

“It’s fun, zany, big and colorful – just like a kid’s book should be. Even the cover itself is inviting. with its deep red background and a wide-eyed, paint-spattered Baxter staring at the reader who must wonder about the story behind the scene. The cover is impressive in its artwork, design, hint of a sparkle accent, and the unusual smooth, non-paper feel.  Bottom line – “Isabella babysits Baxter” represents Fun with a capital F. ” ~ 5 Star Review, Spudman, Amazon, Top 100 Reviewer

“The illustrations by the author are excellent, the story is both adventuresome and entertaining, and the wisdom imparted to children is excellent. A top-notch children’s book from a lady who knows her field and her talent!” ~ 5 Star Review, Grady Harp, Amazon, Top 100 Reviewer
