I am looking forward to labor day. It’s going to be nice. I love cooking out and eating barbecued ribs, probably more than anyone else.
This year is a bit different for me. I am following my nutritional “non-plan” which requires that I fast most of the day. In fact, I start eating at 5 PM, and stop eating at 7 PM. In other words, I have one big healthy meal and then I’m done. I don’t snack. I don’t graze. I don’t deviate. Not even for labor day. This is a lifestyle, and I do it everyday, even on holidays.
Following my “non-plan” I have seen many improvements inside and out. I have seen a lot of fat loss, body composition changes, increase in strength and stamina, mental clarity, weight loss, and good feelings about myself and my weight.
I am happy with my lifestyle, and when I deviate from my “non-plan” even with the feeding times, I experience blotting, water weight gain, swelling and fatigue. I don’t like it. It doesn’t make me feel good, and that’s how I know my “non-plan” is the right plan for me.
Thinking ahead to Labor Day, food is always the center of celebrations. It’s the way it is in America. We live in a society of abundance. So, while I choose not to partake, I ran into some really good, naturally flavored sparkling water from Cascade Ice Water.

They are delicious just in a glass with ice, but when you mix them with other fruits in smoothies and non-alcoholic drinks. TO DIE FOR! My kids LOVE them!

Black Raspberry Slushie
1/2 Cup Black Raspberry Cascade Sparkling Ice Water
1 Cup Ice
Optional: Raspberry Garnish
Place in a blender and blend. For Labor Day Fun, make enough for everyone and place in a pitcher!
Strawberry Orange Mango Green Smoothie
This is a great one for breaking your fast (BreakFast)!
1 Cup Orange Mango Sparkling Cascade Water
8 fresh or frozen strawberries
2 cups spinach
1 Cup ice
Extra frozen or fresh strawberries for garnish/ice
With the exception of the strawberries used for garnish, throw everything in a blender and blend.
It’s filling, refreshing, delicious. The sparking water gives this smoothie life!
