Review:  What a great story with a wonderful message that every child should hear – early!

I love this book for three main reasons.  First, the story promotes recycle, renew and reuse – the three most important things that we must do today to help our environment.  Second, the illustrations are amazing.  You  see every meticulous pencil stroke.  The colors pop out of the book – bringing the story to life.  Third, I love the rhyme.  Rhyming helps with vocabulary, literacy, and understanding.

The story starts with a little boy, anticipating the arrival of his Dad from work, asks his Mom to tell him a story about what his Daddy does.  She tells a story of a chimp named Charlie.  Charlie wonders where the garbage goes.  Through his exploration, he  learns some really sad facts, and decides to take some action to make things better.

Make sure to check out the 2nd edition.  It has some great surprises that your kids will love!

The story is very easy to follow.  The message is amazing!  I love that Charlie takes the lead!  Charlie, truly a chimp with a heart – is a lovable and memorable character.  The illustrations are absolutely “jaw dropping”.  I love the rhyme.  This book great for kids!

    • Hey Karen,

I totally support whatever the child wants to read – because that is what will stimulate him. That’s what will make him excited. Of course, it’s always good to try new things – but in my opinion, it’s not worth it if it’s going to be a fight. You know.

Personally, I would just stick with the dino books.

Totally enter the giveaway though. There is a good chance you will win. It’s a really great book with a great positive message!

I hope you have a great rest of the day!
