There are a lot of protein shakes on the market – of all different prices, sizes, compositions, etc.  I have tasted some good ones, healthy ones, not so healthy ones…whatever ones.

I am extremely careful about what I put inside of my body.  My nutrition is key – being able to get through training sessions, live my busy mom life, live my homeschooling mom life, living my married life…just living life.

It’s important that I stay within my macro limits.  Since I am keto, I believe in the low carb high fat (lchf) lifestyle, it’s really important that I don’t exceed my carbohydrate limit.  It doesn’t take much to exceed the limit and it doesn’t take much to fall out of Ketosis. I want all the benefits of being in ketosis, being healthy and feeling good.

Finally…finally. Great taste, 0 g sugar, 1 g carbs, and 24 g of quality whey protein isolate fuel my muscles and satisfy my chocolate craving.

  1. After a workout is one of the best time to get protein into the body so that the protein can be delivered to your muscles, to begin healing the “micro tears” (very small tears in the muscle tissue, caused by intense contraction of the muscle during workout) in the muscle.
Because solid food takes more time to digest and to break down the protein and send it to the muscles, it can be best to take a protein shake immediately following a workout, since protein shakes only take about 30 minutes to reach the muscle after ingestion. Definitely, we can see the advantage to taking a protein shake in this instance.

  2. I don’t like most protein shakes because I’ve had some that taste chalky.
