Ways to Celebrate Friendship on #valentinesday

When you think of Valentines Day, what do you think of?

Are some words I think of.  I also think, what am I going to do for my kids?  What am I going to do for my hubby?

Those things are wonderful, don’t get me wrong.  Our families are the most important to us, so it would seem logical that we would do something for then on Valentines Day.  After all, it is the day of love, isn’t it?

We decided to take a different approach this year.  I wanted to think outside the gift-box.  I wanted a way to show others that we care about them, and that we think of them often – even though we don’t drop by or call like we should.  I don’t know about you, but with my busy lifestyle, I’m not the best with the phone calls, etc.

So, with the help of Shari’s Berries, and some coloring, cutting, and writing practice – we delivered love to 3 different people this year – just to let them know that we care, and how much we appreciate having them in our lives.

This is what I ordered.

1 Dozen Chocolate Covered Strawberries, 1 dozen Chocolate Covered Oreo Cookies and 1/2 Dozen chocolate covered brownie bites.

They arrived the following day. I made plates for 4 special people – one who experienced several deaths in the family, one who just had a baby, and 1 neighbor who is like a grandparent to my kids, and one of the sisters at church who I visit teach monthly.

We then bought and printed out this great coloring book from the Educents Website..

We practiced our coloring, cutting and writing skills.  You can print these out on regular paper or card stock.

Then we put one colorful card with each plate.

The kids wrote a personal note on the back of each card.

We delivered each plate personally and spent some time visiting with our friends.

It was a simple and rewarding way to celebrate valentines day!

Do you have anything special planned for Valentines Day?
