Munk Pack Protein Cookies

I received samples of Munk Pack protein cookies in exchange for an honest review.  This blog post may contain affiliate links.  The opinions expressed herein are 100% my own.

I do not like protein bars.  I don’t like the taste, and the macros and ingredients are totally out of line.  Many contain very little protein, and are full of carbs (40g of carbs or more for an itty-bitty bar), additives, and crap.  I go to great lengths to take care of my body.  I’m not going to mess up with a protein bar.  It’s just not worth it.

Instead, I make my own or skip it altogether.  Since I fast, I am not eating during the day, anyway.  I like training fasted because it gives me energy and helps me to reach my goals.

Needless to say, when I got a request to review this protein cookie, I was a bit hesitant.

I didn’t try them myself, at first.  I gave them to my hubby to try.  He is not nearly as picky as me.  He will eat things I would never ever consider eating.  LOL.  He plays tennis and goes to the gym.  He hates working out on an empty stomach.  He needs fuel to power his workouts, and usually eats a bowl of pasta or a banana before training.

He is also skeptical of protein bars.  There have been many of bars that he has tried and hasn’t liked and in general doesn’t buy them.  So, he was skeptical as well.

After trying, he raved about the taste.  He loved every flavor, but especially the coconut.  In fact, he raved so much about them, I had to try for myself.

We were playing tennis one Saturday afternoon.  It was hot and I was suffering.  I hadn’t eaten all day and was lacking energy.  I didn’t really think about it, but he saw it.  He offered me a piece of his Coconut White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Munk Pack Protein cookie.  Reluctantly, I had a bite.

It was delicious, dense, a great consistency and full of flavor – unlike any other bar I have tried.  Just one small bite gave me the energy I needed to power through that tennis match!

An entire protein cookie is 36g carbs, 18g protein and 7g fat – depending upon the flavor.  Each cookie is two servings. For me, one bite made a difference! I do not need an entire cookie, or even half.  For me, I keep them in my gym back when I train late, because it’s late in my fast where I need the energy to power through barbell squats, a tennis match, or heavy Romanian deadlifts.  When I need it, I take a bite and it kicks in almost immediately.

Most importantly for me being a recovering over eater, it wasn’t addictive.  Munk Pack protein cookies do not contain sugar or sugar alcohols (super addictive).  So, it’s easy for me to take a bite, enjoy the taste, put it back, and not obsess.  It’s key for me to stay on track, not feel totally gross from overeating, and moving forward towards my goals.

Munk Pack protein cookies are also certified vegan, non-GMO, gluten-free, kosher, ready to eat and contain no trans-fat, soy, dairy or eggs.  There is no guilt or worry about eating them!

They come in four amazing flavors…

Double Dark Chocolate

Oatmeal Raisin Spice

Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip

Coconut White Chocolate Macadamia

My favorite, it’s hard to choose.  It’s a toss-up between the Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip and the Coconut White Chocolate Macadamia.

I don’t eat these for dessert.  I don’t even indulge every day.  But I know when I need a quick bit of energy, and I don’t mind breaking my fast, they are my go-to.

One bite does the trick!

You can purchase all of these delicious flavors on Amazon.

  1. Hi, those cookies look really nice. I haven’t tried those yet and I’m a big fan of protein cookies overall. Especially as for the past few months I’m on a low carb diet, so I don’t really have much choice either way 😛
The only downside for me is the fact, that they are quite expensive, but I’ m trying to manage 😛
