Q-Saves the Sun

Author Isaac Perry

Illustrator: Shomari Harrington

Publisher: Tiger Stripe Publishing

Publication year: 2014

Finally, a book that my youngest son can read and will see characters like their family!  Thank you, Tiger Strip Publishing!  Q-Saves the Sun is a family positive, family centered book about Qadeer Taylor (Q for short), a little boy who lives in Chicago.  His father drives the “L” train straight through downtown, and while he works long hours, he looks forward to coming home at night and putting his son to bed (and so does Qadeer.  It’s the best part of his day!).

When his father comes and tucks him in at night, he inspires adventure dreams.  When Qadeer falls asleep, he is magically transformed into Super-Q, an invincible superhero who saves earth from alien creatures!  Super-Q, of course, has to have a trusty sidekick, Brian, his favorite dinosaur.  Together with Super-Q and Brian, you and your kids will be taken on an exciting adventure through space!

A book written by and featuring people of color – it’s a fantastic adventure for the entire family!  When Grayson and I read Super-Q, he’s magically transformed (again) to Super-G!  We have a lot of fun with the book – no matter how many times we read it! We can’t wait until the next adventure comes out!
