Risk and the Fear of Failure – A $25.00 Cash Giveaway!

Don’t be too timid and squeamish about your actions. All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make the better.

~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

I will argue that there are very few failures in life – except for the failure to do anything in the first place (or take the risk).  If you fail to take the risk because you are scared about failure – then your progression in life will be forever halted.

I was thinking about this today.  I was thinking about some of the biggest risks/leaps of faith that I have taken in my life – and the outcomes of taking that risk/leap of faith.  You know what?  None of the outcomes resulted into great monetary gain.

Darn.  Lots of moolah is a very good outcome – and one that I would like to have.

However all of them helped in my life’s progression.

  1. An increase in knowledge – to know what is right and not right
  2. An increase in experience – to know how to take more risks
  3. An increase in faith – to listen to the Still Small Voice and know that it will always guide me in the right direction
  4. An increase in courage – to not be afraid to take more and bigger risks

A fear of failure is not a good reason not to take a risk.  As Ralph Waldo Emerson said, Life is an experiment.  The more experiments you make – the better.  There is a great deal to be learned from each and every experiment.

I’m taking the NaBloPoMo challenge.  This month, it’s on risk.

So, I’m going to put my money (literally and figuratively) where my mouth is.  I’m going to take a risk – and see what I learn from it.  Haha!

I’m going to give away $25.00 in paypal cash to one person that links up a blog post – telling about a leap of faith they took – and the positive outcome that resulted.  Even if the outcome wasn’t what was expected.

Here is my challenge for you…

  1. Create a blog post about a leap of faith and something (positive) that you learned from taking the big plunge.
  2. Grab my button from the sidebar and put it on your sidebar, and also on the post.
  3. Link up your post below
  4. Enter the giveaway.  The only requirement is that you tweet about the giveaway and do the tasks mentioned above.
  5. Have fun!

Once I have a winner, I will verify that all the tasks have been completed.  If not, another winner will be chosen.
